The Final Diagnosis (09/17/20)

There it is..the final diagnosis

Test after test..it could be this it could be that
Let’s try this medication 
Let’s try that one
Dr how long are you going to keep doping me up
Be real, just give it to me straight
The stress of not knowing …wait
Not knowing is called faith right?
I have that!
 
Another final test..Now the final results
The three words you don’t think of but hear is YOU HAVE CANCER 
It comes out in slow motion along with other words you don’t even hear
No not you…it can’t be true
Now there are three other words that come to mind NEVER SAY NEVER
At that moment I redirected the energy of those words I heard. TRUST THE PROCESS. 
Faith is what I have and what I know
And the only way to get thru this is to grow
Trusting the process will be a road traveled alone
But faith will guide you fully to let you know
You are stronger than you thought you could be
And it will show you this path is for you to open your mind to the possibilities of a beautiful life God had for you just hold on and trust the process. 
 
 

One year ago today (02-05-22)

Wow…one year ago today. I was sent home from the hospital after being in the hospital for a week. I was losing a lot of blood, went into a seizure thought God was calling me home. I was sent to the hospital for a blood transfusion with several pints of blood, test after test, all tests came back good and the doctors come into my room to tell me on the 5th day with a puzzled look on their face saying they don’t know what caused the seizure. I knew when they came into the room they weren’t going to be able to tell me what caused the seizure but me with a smirk on my face saying to them…”oh God don’t show up on test.” Can I go home and watch the superbowl now.

 All of that to say God is the truth. I prayed like no tomorrow and here I am still standing…..Thank you God and Thank you my Love Muffins

The Journey

I am a Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer Survivor of 10 months as of March 23, 2021.  I am a mother of two ages 14 and 21.  A divorced wife of 15 years.  It has been quite a journey with cancer during a pandemic. To be completely honest the challenges have been overwhelming. I try to still be the person I was before cancer but I have finally faced that I am not that person any longer.  I have days where I don’t want to ever wake up again but my faith keeps me pushing through.

Mental Health

My mental health has been an emotional roller coaster. I was given the news of Cancer and completely went numb to everything around me but put a mask on to make people believe I was ok.  By the way, it always sounds better to say I’m fine because then I won’t have to find the words to tell people how I really feel. Most of the time I couldn’t articulate how I felt or what was going on with my mind, body, and soul. Most of the time I felt helpless.  Where was the woman who everyone went to for advice, whenever everyone else needed her she would show up but she couldn’t show up for herself?  Where did she go?  The person who loves to cook but doesn’t have the strength to cook and on days when I did feel well I would either burn up the food or forget and leave the stove on.  Where was the person who loves to be around people now looks at herself in the mirror and says “WHO IS SHE?

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

No matter how many questions you ask yourself just know sometimes it’s ok to not be ok. Just don’t stay in that space.  Not every day is going to be perfect and that is ok.  You have been taken down a road of unmarked territory in your life and trusting God is who you will need for this ride.  An illness of any kind is a transition to a new space a new journey. If God places you on this path it’s a lesson for a blessing. You are not alone. Prayer,  meditation, and a good support group will make the journey easier but you have to be willing to trust the process.

Blessed by the best

I pray you woke up this morning with your 10 minute manifestation meditation, studying the word and speaking an extraordinary day into your day. Waking up with a grateful heart and just feeling like you can conquer all that comes your way, with God by your side. Remember you can do nothing without him (John 15:5)

Know that you can have that great day, you can have an abundance of whatever you manifest. Speak life into all you do. Humble yourself and ask God that when you bless others they don’t see you they see Him. You are that loving being who is blessed by the best. You are uniquely made. What is for you is for you. Be mindful of the words you speak that you speak life and not hurt, harm or place anyone in danger . Keep this verse in mind A whole some tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. (Proverbs 15:4)

Make you day EXTRAORDINARY!!!

Get It Done in 2021

The new year has begun. It’s time to set new goals, dream bigger, explore new experiences that will push you into the great person you are meant to be. It’s time to release the fears, step out on faith and strengthen the gifts you have. It is the time to be intentional of being sincere of others and remove the selfish ways that may block your blessings. Unclutter the thoughts of “I can’t” and get it done in 2021.

Lyneshia C. Johnson-Woodland was born and raised in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. She completed courses with the Columbia School of Broadcasting in Virginia, as well as with IM4radio Broadcasting Network in Largo, Maryland. 

Diagnosed at age 50 with Diffuse Large B-cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer. She is a survivor of Stage 4. A former internet radio personality and producer of her own show “The Boogie Spot with L Boogie” Ms. Woodland, also known as Ms. L Boogie, has exceptional talent as a Mistress of Ceremonies for several events in the DMV, comedian, and actress. Retired after 31 years with Prince George’s County Public School System, in Maryland. She fulfills her civic duties in many roles in the community such as Vice-President of her neighborhood Citizens Association, member of Greater Saint John Cathedral, Marketing ministry, LEJ Mime, and Dance Ministry, along with helping whatever else is needed.  She served as a mentor and volunteered with the G.E.M.S. (Girls Empowered to Meet Success) mentoring group, and Girls Scouts of America. She is presently a host of a movement Black Women Connexting Communities, which can be found on www.wowuradio.net or www.blkwomencc.com. She will also be launching her new podcast “Conversations with Chante'” stay tuned.

She is a spirit-filled mother of two beautiful beings. A son and a daughter.

Survivor Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer

Signs and symptoms of lymphoma may include:

  • Painless swelling of lymph nodes in your neck, armpits or groin.
  • Persistent fatigue.
  • Fever.
  • Night sweats.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Unexplained weight loss.
  • Itchy skin

 Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is cancer that originates in your lymphatic system, the disease-fighting network spread throughout your body. In non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, tumors develop from lymphocytes — a type of white blood cell. Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is more common than the other general type of lymphoma — Hodgkin lymphoma.
